How to Use a Hot Air Welding Gun?
- Prepare Before Using: At the first, you should connect the hot air welding gun to a stable power supply (220 V or 110 V, depending on your model). You should ensure the surfaces to be welded are clean, dust-free, and dry.
- Pre-Heating: Allow the gun to preheat for 2-3 minutes until heat airflow is consistent. For PVC sheets, this is typically 260°C to 350°C (500°F to 660°F) .
- Start Welding: Position the nozzle between the overlapping sheets at a 45° angle. Then move the gun slowly along the seam while pressing the material with the pressure roller.
- Let the Sheet for Cooling: After welding, you should allow the seam to cool naturally for at least 2 minutes before testing strength. Once finished, switch the gun to its lowest temperature setting and let it run for 1-2 minutes to cool the heating element before shutting down completely.
Efficiency tip: We usually pair this gun with a seam tester tool to immediately check weld strength. This minimizes rework and ensures waterproofing integrity.
